BLUE CROSS OF TANZANIA (BCST)
Is a non-governmental organization working with the issue of alcohol and drugs abuse related problems under Christian values and uniting peoples in their communities to fight against alcoholism and drug abuse and bringing their own development. The Blue Cross Society of Tanzania subsequently called “Blue Cross” is a voluntary organization introduced in early 1996 and registered under Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002 with registration No. OONGO/0155 in 22nd June, 2006. Its Head Office is in Morogoro (Ifakara town) with sub head office in Arusha city. Blue Cross Society of Tanzania is also a member of International Blue Cross since established
Meet Our Team
Revocatus Nginila
Revocatus Nginila, is a Programme Coordinator who is in charge of the life skills development project, in charge of operational planning, effective implementation and monitoring of activities in the field. Project management for development and cooperation project (Focus on life skills & peer education prevention programmes for youth) including technical assistance and monitoring for project implementation as well as responsibility for overseeing project finances and budget.
Gloria Pagungile
Gloria Pagungile is the Project Officer/Life skills Facilitator who is in charge of the life skills education for in and out of school youth and parents, conduct outreach activities with community members, organizing and conducting trainings, reporting, effective implementation and monitoring of activities in the field in collaboration with Programme Coordinator.
Anna Panga
Anna Panga is the Project Officer/Life skills Facilitator who is in charge of the life skills education for in- and out of school youth and parents, conduct outreach activities with community members, organizing and conducting trainings, reporting, effective implementation and monitoring of activities in the field in collaboration with Programme Coordinator.
Ndimzana Stephen
Ndimzana Stephen is the Accountant who is in charge of the project budget, operational planning, and effective implementation of the budget and monitoring of activities in the field in collaboration with Programme Coordinator.
Our Objectives
- To assist those who are battling with alcohol-related problems, using every available modern means.
- To provide information to the societies about the dangers of alcohol and all other drug abuse.
- To encourage prevention amongst young people by promoting drug free life style.
- To support alcohol policy and promoting health for all.
- To fight against poverty, HIV/ AIDS and social exclusion especially connected with alcohol and other drugs.
Our activities
1)Prevention of the initiation of the substance use and reduce risky behaviour in children, youth and individuals.
2)Reduction of gender-based violence amongst the communities in women and girls caused by alcohol and drug abuse
3)Empowerment of citizens includes faith communities’ voice their concerns and act collectively to prevent harmful substance use includes alcohol and drugs.
4)Fight against poverty by empowering of community members.
